Help4Heroes 

The charity I have chosen to support in 2011 is Help4Heroes. They work so very hard to support wounded service personnel. The local area has strong links to all three services, both historically and today. Wiltshire & Bath are home to a surprising number of our armed forces & supporting MOD staff. It is also where many Army, Air Force and Naval people come live in retirement. Wish us luck in our fundraising over the year; hopefully by Christmas we can make a meaningful donation to the charity.    

"Homes of the future".

Shortly we are launching a competition based on the imagination and vision of local school children.

What will the homes of the future look like? How will they be powered? Will future generations have different demands on the space available? Maybe more emphasis will be placed on recycling and growing produce than parking or garaging for cars?

Whatever the answers, there will be prizes for the winners and their schools. Check back here for details soon. 

The Lion Trail and the British Heart Foundation

We are supporting the Bear Hunt in Bradford-on-Avon, Beau Bear is sitting proudly in our window. In 2010 we took part in the Lion Trail around Bradford-on-Avon. The Lions were auctioned for charity. Our beautiful Lion was decorated by local artist Emma Leith and sold for £200 which went to the British Heart Foundation. They helped our friends while their son was in the care of Bristol Royal Infirmary.
